Activities in the sky to enjoy the sky and forest at Shikoku Karst

Mountain sport

Tsuno-cho, located in the midwestern part of Kochi Prefecture, on the prefectural border with Ehime Prefecture, offers a magnificent view of Shikoku Karst. A starry sky seen from the hotel "Hoshifuru Village TENGU" where you can observe astronomical objects from the guest rooms. We will introduce a two-day plan that is wrapped in nature, such as "Forest Adventure" where you can play with your body in the forest.

DAY1

Let's drive through Tengu Highland on a rental bicycle!

Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes by car from Kochi Ryoma Airport. Arrived at Tsuno-cho, which has a Shikoku Karst, which extends about 1,485m above sea level and about 25km east-west. It is one of the three major karsts in Japan, along with Akiyoshidai in Yamaguchi Prefecture and Hiraodai in Fukuoka Prefecture, and Shikoku karst is located at the highest altitude.

The beautiful sunrise and sea of clouds rising from the mountains in the morning, the mountains as far as the eye can see and the blue sky in the day, and the starry sky in which countless stars shine at night. You can enjoy a different natural look at each time. In Mezurudaira, located in the center of the karst, you can see cows grazing from spring to autumn.

This time, you will enjoy the scenery by cycling where you can enjoy the feeling of running in the sky.
Bicycle rental is available at the accommodation facility "Hoshifuru Village TENGU". (From 1,500 yen per hour / 1,050 yen per hour for those staying). Apply at the reception desk and rent a bicycle.

This time, "E-bike" is where even those who are not confident in their physical strength can enjoy the ride with confidence.

With the same design and ride comfort as sports bikes, it supports the stepping of pedals and acceleration of speed like an electric assist bicycle, so you can feel safe on Shikoku Karst road with ups and downs.
The battery capacity is large, so you can run freely without worrying about physical strength or distance.

Superb cycling while inhaling the clear air that feels the height of the altitude. We recommend spring to autumn without snow. If you're lucky, you can also meet wild animals such as pheasants.

Don't forget to take a commemorative photo at the prefectural border between Kochi and Ehime♪

"Planetarium" to know the starry sky of Shikoku Karst

After returning to "Hoshifuru Village TENGU" and returning the bicycle, go to the planetarium in the facility.

In cooperation with the Goto Institute of Optical Chemistry, which produces planetariums nationwide, the charm of Tsuno-cho, the seasonal starry sky seen from Tengu Highland, and many constellations, nebulas, shooting stars, etc. You can watch it slowly by leaving yourself on a cushion sofa.

Vercharium X, an all-sky digital projection system that allows you to project starry sky and images into the sky using a high-definition video projector, and the sound of Tengu Highland, such as the voice of insects and the babbling of the river, are calm but realistic.

Take me to a fantastic starry sky trip with elaborate programs such as simulated experiences that resemble a 24-hour, 365-day tour of Tsuno-cho as a one-day tour, and starry sky trekking to guide the full star sky seen from Tengu Highland You.

Sankai Full Course Dinner Enjoying Local Seasons

The long-awaited dinner is a full course designed by the chef who can taste the ingredients of the sea, mountains and rivers of Kochi, using plenty of local ingredients.

※The course in the photo is "Tengu no Zen"
※There are two types of children's menu for dinner time: a children's lunch (1,650 yen) and a children's meal (2,200 yen).

Dinner can be selected from three courses: Tengu no Zen, Seiryu no Zen, and Yamasato no Zen. Each course cherishes seasonal ingredients, and you can enjoy a variety of "Kochi" from wild plants to high-fresh sashimi and specialty meat dishes.

The restaurant is open for lunch from 11:00 to 14:30 (L.O14:00), and there are also set meals, noodles, and snacks such as bowls. It is also easy to use when visiting on a day trip.

Slowly astronomical observation in the room "Starry Sky Room"

"Hoshifuru Village TENGU" is a rare accommodation facility in Japan with an observatory and a planetarium.
There are plenty of facilities in the hotel, such as large public bath, where you can see the superb view of Shikoku Karst and the sacred mountain "Ishizuchiyama", and a shop with a variety of local specialties perfect for souvenirs.
Among the various types of room types, such as Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, and universal rooms, the most popular one is the starry sky room, which can be said to be a representative guest room of "Hoshifuru Village TENGU".

This maisonette-type room is fully equipped with astronomical observation room equipped with large windows and a sofa where you can relax as you go up the stairs in the guest room. It is built on the top of the mountain, so if you look up, you can see the starry sky.

You can watch as many stars as you like in a private space without worrying about the cold or heat. Recommended for small children who have difficulty going out late at night.

DAY2

"Forest Adventure" to play with nature in the forest

Forest Adventure Kochi is a natural-symbiotic outdoor park that originated in France, located about 30 minutes by car from "Hoshifuru Village TENGU". Rather than developing a forest, it is a facility characterized by the creation of a park that utilizes the topography of the forest, and an attractive athletic is created while minimizing the burden on the environment.

"Adventure Course" where you can cross the air in the forest while moving over a tree that is more than 10 meters high from the ground, and experience dynamic and thrilling on the tree using the height difference of the forest.
The Canopy Course, which can be enjoyed by a wide range of generations, with slightly less height and difficulty than the Adventure Course. Choose a course that suits you from three "long zip slides" where you can easily enjoy only the zip line.

First of all, complete the reception and attach a dedicated harness to protect yourself.

After wearing, you will move around the place and take a safety briefing (safety training / about 20 minutes) to ensure your safety yourself before starting the course experience. After receiving the explanation in the video first, you will actually practice wearing equipment and practicing landing on a small course.

When the course progresses and the explanation of the rules are over, the challenge is finally!

When I stand at the starting point, I feel taller than I imagined. As you walk on a swaying wooden board or log, you will find difficulties one after another while just walking.
From tree to tree, walk on a rope like a rope walk, push through the net, jump into the net like Tarzan, and proceed with full use of my whole body. The blue sky and the zip line! Jump into the best view.

The zip line of the adventure course is the largest in the prefecture, with a height of up to 40m from the ground and a total length of 337m. The zip line that crosses the forest while overlooking the mountains of Tsuno-cho has a refreshing feeling that blows away with fear, and if you slide with your hands, you can enjoy the floating feeling and thrill that you can not taste in everyday life.
