The sea of Kochi Prefecture, full of blessings in the Pacific Ocean
In the southern half of Shikoku, Kochi Prefecture, which has a long fan shape east and west, faces almost all coastlines facing the Pacific Ocean. Kochi Prefecture is blessed by the sea in various aspects, but it is especially remarkable for "food".
Seafood is of course high freshness, and tourists are often surprised by the freshness of sashimi sold at supermarkets. "Sunshine", made by evaporating seawater, is made only with the power of nature without artificially modifying it, so it does not impair the original flavor of the sea and rich in minerals.
Sea faces varying by location
The sea of Kochi shows a completely different expression depending on the location.
Eastern areas with coastlines formed with nature, such as Cape Muroto, which has been certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark. The central region where first-class rivers flow in, and the clear stream that springs from an altitude of 1,500m carries mountain minerals and delivers it to the sea. It is a treasure trove of creatures that have always been warm in the Kuroshio Current, and the western region where Malin activities are most active in the prefecture. In each case, there are unique landscapes and ways to enjoy the sea.

You can enjoy full-fledged Malin activities at Kashiwajima, a diving spot where one-third of the marine life identified in Japan inhabit, Tatsukushi, Tosa Shimizu City, where you can experience coral and tropical fish, and Nyuno Coast, Kuroshio Town, where surfers gather on beautiful sandy beaches.
In addition, fishing that can be enjoyed in almost all areas takes a variety of fish species depending on the season and place. There are many high-ranking people for fishing, making it a secret mecca.
