If you enjoy the outdoors with your pet, a member of your precious family, your trip should be even more fulfilling. This time, we will introduce a two-day outdoor trip that dogs can experience together.

DAY1

Dog Run & Special Snack

The destination of this trip is the Shimanto & Ashizuri area blessed with rich nature. On the first day, we will head from Kochi IC to the center of Shimanto City for about 2 hours via the Kochi Expressway. 

We arrived at a dog run, a pet hotel, and a shop that sells snacks from Kochi Prefecture, "WANLIFE". 

In One Life, there is a well-maintained dog run "DOG VILLAGE" with a site area of about 500 tsubo. Let the dog who has been driving for a long time to play. 

The natural turf dog run is full of swings, slides, well water pools, etc. The first dog can run around with a smile and a smile. When the dog smiles, the owner smiles, of course. Both mothers and daughters look happy to see their cute child running around. 

Another reason why I visited One Life this time is a special snack. 

High-quality ingredients from Kochi Prefecture are used for one-life snacks, such as kibinago of Sukumo, Tosa Hachikin chicken, and Tosa potatoes. They are carefully manufactured one by one at a factory in Kochi Prefecture. A fragrant snack made with the concept of "I want to eat together = Hanbunko" has become a popular product both inside and outside the prefecture. 

The snack is handled by the owner Toshijun Umehara. Mr. Umehara, who has experienced various jobs related to animals, has long thought, "I want to give precious pets safe, secure, and really good food." And when I moved to Kochi Prefecture, I created a snack that made use of ingredients from Kochi Prefecture.

I'm excited! Overwhelmed! Nature of Ashizuri

The family who spent the reward time with one life goes to Ashizuri area. It takes about 50 minutes to drive by car and arrives at Ashizuri Sunnyside Hotel. 

Ashizuri Sunnyside Hotel is a historic hotel that has been hosting tourists in this area for many years. In 2018, two of the annex rooms were renovated into exclusive rooms with dogs. Rooms are equipped with special amenities such as gauges and dog dishes to meet the needs of those who want to travel with pets. 

The hotel boasts an ocean view that spreads out in front of you. If you take a step outside the room, you can see the magnificent Pacific Ocean. Let's enjoy a walk with your dog on a vast site of 8,000 tsubo that spreads out around. 

After clearing your luggage in the guest room and taking a break, go to the recommended spot. That's the hotel's biggest boast, "View observation deck". 

promenade is maintained up to observation deck. Because the scaffolding is bad in some places, we recommend wearing shoes that are easy to walk such as sneakers. And after walking for about 3 minutes, you can see a breathtaking view. 

Azure Pacific Ocean with a panoramic view from observation deck! The horizon continues far away, and the ocean, the blue sky, and white clouds are united to make you feel the power of nature. And what you can see below is a steep rocky area unique to Ashizuri. The waves that hit the rock, the broken white wave splashes are dynamic! I am overwhelmed by the magnificent landscape. 

The mother and daughter who held the dog also said, "It's amazing!" “Let’s take a picture!” he said. Blowin' in the Wind is good. I enjoyed the great nature of Ashizuri in my family and returned to the inn. 

Dinner will be served at the main restaurant of the hotel. The dishes made with seasonal ingredients of Tosa are full of volume. There are 4 types of plans, including Kochi's regional cuisine dish bowl and Tosa Kuroge beef, and all plans can taste bonito tataki. Enjoy the exquisite dishes unique to Kochi, and the first day is over.

DAY2

Canoe dog debut! Let's play Shimanto River

On the second day, we will try the activities with your dog. Takeshi Takakura of the Shimanto River outdoor guide "Okera Adventures" will support you. 

Okela Adventures offers a variety of guide menus to enjoy Shimanto River. This time, you will experience a one-day chartered canoe dog debut with your dog and Shimanto River! Pack Raft River Down Plan." This is a menu supervised by "One Life" that I went to play on the first day. 

First, go to the Okela Adventures office. After changing clothes here, borrow a life jacket, and aim for the river by Mr. Takakura's car. 

When you arrive in the river, put air in a foldable canoe called Pack Raft. Then, you will be taught how to row and the rules in case you fall into the river, and get on the Pack Raft. 

By the way, before getting on, the dog is crazy about playing in the river in shallow places. Are you going to swim well (laughs), I'm working hard even in shallow places! The dog made the river debut this time, but he enjoyed Shimanto River without being afraid of the water. 

It is unique to a chartered tour that you can spend such free time without hesitation. "Let's get on fast" "Don't bark," don't worry about that. All Okela Adventures tours are chartered one pair per day. This time, the owner was able to challenge the activities at will without worrying about the surroundings and without worrying about time. 

When you are ready in advance, go to your daughter's Pack Raft. Dogs seem to feel very good on Pack Raft, which goes down the river gently. Canoe dog, debut! 

At first, my mother and daughter, who were worried about "Is it okay?" gradually got used to the movement of the paddle. The scenery that can only be seen here, such as the glittering river surface, the unobstructed sky, and passing through the sinking bridge with Pack Raft. “It’s going to pass quickly!” said a smiling mother. When the houseboat passed, we moved to the riverbank according to Mr. Takakura, and there was room for tourists to wave their hands, so parents and children and canoe dogs enjoyed the relaxing time of Shimanto River. 

In addition, Okera Adventures does not have any particular rules regarding the distance, location, and time down the river. In the dog plan, Mr. Takakura basically selects the route that passes through the sinking bridge, but in consideration of various points such as the weather at that time, the physical strength of the participants, the convenience of the time, the course of 5 km or more Will guide you. If you have any hope, let me tell you in advance. The company's tour is characterized by its high degree of freedom. "I want to relax on the Pack Raft" or "I want to eat lunch on the Pack Raft" will come true. 

Mr. Takakura says, "I want you to enjoy Shimanto River for one group a day." There are many repeaters in the dog plan, and in the future we want to start an inn where you can stay with pets. Kochi's outdoor trip to enjoy with pets is likely to be further enhanced in the future.
