Closed to two days of the professional dance team "Septenyraptures" that excites Shimanto-shi with dance

"SEPTENI RAPTURES", which is participating in the professional dance league "D.LEAGUE", held a training camp in Kochi Prefecture. This time, we interviewed a workshop held prior to the training camp. We will report on the creation of works that we worked on with kids and young people.

First of all

"SEPTENI RAPTURES" is one of Japan's top dance teams, centered around D.LEAGUE. Septenyraptures and Kochi Prefecture share the concept of "Enjoy the area with dance!" and develop various activities. Members are enlivening the dance scene in Kochi Prefecture, such as giving dance lessons to students from all over the prefecture. 

In the winter of 2022, members visited Kochi Prefecture and experienced sutra copying, zazen, and bonito straw grilling. I'm telling you about it here.

Dance workshop

A dance workshop was held in Shimanto-shi on August 19 and 20, prior to the summer training camp of Septenyraptures in Kochi Prefecture in the summer of 2023. The participants were Haruto, AYUMI, and eigh10. 

In this workshop, a dance lecture will be given to those who have applied in advance for two days, and the work will be presented on the stage of the summer festival.
At the "Annami Sports Center Gymnasium" in Shimanto-shi, about 40 people, including beginners, took lessons on the 19th and about 35 people on the 20th, not only those who had dance experience, but also beginners. 

Participants desperately learn the works prepared by Septenyraptures. 

The first song of the work is "MONster" that Septenyraptures actually performed at D.LEAGUE, and the second song is "BOY" with a bright touch. 

The center of the guidance is Mr. Haruto. In "MONster" with a cool and cool atmosphere, we gave a lecture "Let's make a more wild feeling!" In the case of "BOY" at the uptempo, "Let's smile brightly!", And not just teaching choreography, but how to express it cool. 

In addition, AYUMI and eigh10 advise on how to move the body finely according to the rhythm, "One, Two, Three, Four". "MONster", where intermediate and advanced classes danced, was a very difficult piece, but the participants couldn't. I took it seriously while getting sweaty and mastered dance. 

And finally, Mr. Haruto said, “Thank you very much for two days. Let's make the production a good summer memory! "

After the two-day workshop, we listened to the three participants. 

Haruto: "It's great for two days and it's great quality. The dancers are surprised.” 

AYUMI: "Everybody swallowed quickly and had a great absorbency. "MONster" has held workshops in other prefectures, but I think it's the best thing I've ever done. I am truly surprised.” 

eigh10 "I think it's amazing to be able to dance so much in a short period of time. I don’t think it’s easy, and I want you to change what you have done.” 

And with the voices of three people, I hoped that "I'm looking forward to the production."

Toma Miyagawa, a first-year high school student, was showing a sharp dance during practice. 

"I've been attending a dance school since the fourth grade of elementary school. I was looking forward to hearing from Haruto, AYUMI and eigh10. In fact, I realized the ability of the three guys and I want to be better too! I thought. “Today, my motivation for dancing has increased!” 

Kaka Kamioka, a childcare teacher who learned dance between elementary and junior high school students, and was also in a dance circle when he was a college student. 

"I don't have the opportunity to teach a professional, so it was a very good experience. Since I became a member of society, I have been away from dancing for a while, but after a long time, it was very fun to dance, and I felt like I like dancing after all. With this opportunity, my dream expanded to teach dance to children, and to integrate dance into childcare work."

After the workshop, the three members of the Septenyraptures moved to Shimanto Canoe and camp village "Kawarakko" where the summer festival is held. Kawarakko was a campsite along the Shimanto River and enjoyed playing in the river with the kids who participated in the workshop for about an hour before the start of the summer festival. 

Haruto and AYUMI tried canoeing for the first time. He immediately mastered how to row and said, “It feels good!” “I want to do it tomorrow,” he said. 

You can also experience the light tiger sauna that was opened on the riverbank. "It's a very good sauna," says Haruto. This "Shimanto Light Trasauna" is basically open every day in front of "Kawarakko".

Dance presentation

After playing in the river, the works will be presented at the summer festival. Assuming the production, final confirmation of the movement. With Haruto's idea, we decided to form a circle, and "I'll do my best!" “Oh!” he said cheerfully. 

And finally live! The first song "MONster" will be attended by Haruto, AYUMI and eigh10. The participants demonstrated the results of the two-day lesson and performed a wonderful dance.

In addition, when the tone changed and became the second song "BOY", energetic kids appeared on stage. Everyone danced happily with a smile and enjoyed the local residents who visited the summer festival. 

After the presentation, we interviewed Haruto. 

“It was good that everyone had fun with a smile. Actually, before I came to Kochi, I thought quite a lot about what I could do in two days. He expressed his elaborate work so beautifully that he couldn't think of it as a two-day practice. I think it was hard to practice, but everyone was last very lively and my eyes were glittering. I was impressed and impressed, and I was able to interact with the community and meet through dance, so it was a good experience." 

What message do you want to convey to your children through this event? 

“I think there’s a lot of chances going down. I think it’s important how much you pick it up. This time it was dance, but I think it's okay not only for dance but also for other sports. I want you to try a lot of things.” 

Next is AYUMI. 

"After it was over, the child hugged me hot. I was impressed! Through this event, I wonder if I could be a little more of the power of the child who wants to dance. When I was a child, I was glad to be taught by a dancer, and I was impressed to remember that time. It was really fun today.” 

Finally, Eigh 10. 

"I think it was a difficult work, but everyone did not express the difficulties in their faces and attitudes, practiced stoic during breaks, and I thought that attitude was wonderful. I was inspired and thought we had to do our best too. I hope that everyone who participated will make use of this experience and enjoy dancing in the future. It would be nice if I could dance with everyone one day. I also want you to take advantage of this event to challenge not only dance but also various things, and to have the feeling of taking on challenges.” 

After the dance announcement, the summer festival continued, and Haruto, AYUMI, and eigh10 participated in Yosakoi Naruko Odori, and interacted with local people.

In addition, in response to a sudden request that was not planned, the three performed a masterpiece dance. The professional performance is great! In a word, applause was sent from the audience. Participants seemed happy to say, "It was very fun" and "It was cool," and the event ended with a lot of liveliness. 

On August 21, other members also entered Kochi, and a training camp was held. 

The next visit to Kochi for Septenyraptures is around the end of November 2023. At that time, we will also hold events and workshops. As soon as the details are decided, we will play! We will also inform you in Kochi, so please look forward to it.
