Kochi Prefecture, which is rare in Japan, can surf throughout the year.
Surfers come from all over the country in search of beautiful seas and waves. There are coasts where you can enjoy surfing in almost all areas, but there are programs that even beginners can enjoy, such as surf schools, at Ikumi Coast in the eastern part of the prefecture and at Nyuno Beach in the western part of the prefecture. There are many beaches equipped with toilets and shower facilities that are safe for surfers.

The summer image is strong, but in Kochi there are waves suitable for surfing all year round. In May, when many people wear short sleeves, people who enjoy surfing on the seaside begin to appear. At that time, the water temperature rises and you can enjoy it without equipment such as wet suits, so it is a recommended season for beginners.
