What is GREAT EARTH Taka Tomohito Yodo Blue Ride?

GREAT EARTH Taka Tomohito Yodo Blue Ride is a fan ride event where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and local gourmet while cycling around the basin of the Niyodo River, known as a miracle clear stream. At the 7th tournament held on May 26, 2024 (Sun), there were nearly 300 entries, and from the age of 11 to the age of 81, many cyclists inside and outside the prefecture enjoyed the Niyodo River basin. Was.
There are two courses: a long course of 114km and a short course of 65km. It is relatively gentle and has a time limit of about 8 hours, so you can run leisurely while watching the superb view of the Niyodo River.

Linda's first part

This is the first Taiwanese cyclist Linda, who visited Kochi for the first time. He is a popular influencer who participates in bicycle events around the world, such as Japan and Europe.

Linda participated in radio exercises after completing the entry at the starting point, Inomachi Hagawa Park. I was introduced as a special guest and sent an ale to the participants saying, "Let's do our best together today!"
At 7:30, it starts! First of all, the participants of the long course will start running. And the short course started at 8:00. Linda also started with a smile, saying, "Enjoy!"

Linda travels at a speed of about 35 km/h.
After 30 minutes of running, I arrived at Kochi's famous sinking bridge. This is the Nagoshiya sinking bridge located at the bottom of the Niyodo River.

“The rivers and mountains are beautiful. It is a bridge that sinks when a lot of rain falls, but there is no such bridge in Taiwan. It's amazing to rain so much!" 。
Soon we arrived at the 1st Aid. Here are "Fruit Tomato" from Hidaka Village and Kochi's specialty sweets "Imo Kenpo".

“You can enjoy local specialties too!” 。
After that, I ran without slowing down, and arrived at Ochicho / Miyanomae Park, the turning point.

This second aid prepared "Ochiman" with Ochicho's specialty Sansho Tsukudani, and "Maze soba" with plenty of leeks harvested in Sakawacho.

"It's all delicious. Sansho is also OK! I ate it for the first time in summer. You can eat it with sweet skin. It's delicious!" 。
How about this?
"The Niyodo River is very beautiful. The course is very easy with few slopes. Unfortunately it's cloudy today, but it's just right for a cyclist (laughs). It’s cool and easy to run.”
Linda, who runs exhilaratingly
After filling your stomach with delicious gourmet unique to Kochi, the second half course returns to Hakawa Park.
The main spot in the latter half is the Asao sinking bridge, which has been the location and model of various movies.

Unfortunately, it was unfortunate weather, but it was very fantastic with fog!
"It's a beautiful view. Taiwan is steep because the mountains are high and the land is narrow, so the river is steep. It is rare to see the river flowing in this way.”

I also found people playing canoes and playing in the river. "I'm jealous! I love activities, so I want to do it too.”
And at 12:00, finish at Hakawa Park!

Linda with a generous expression. "It's easy! I usually run at about 40 km/h, but today I wanted to enjoy the scenery, so I ran a little slowly.”

After the goal, I received a T-shirt for the participation prize and posed.
"Cute! I liked it [laughs].”

Goalaid is a freshly baked bonito tataki and Chotaro shellfish. "I'll have it!" he said.

"Yes, it's delicious. Actually, in Taiwan, there is no custom of eating fish raw, and I really don't like sashimi too. But Kochi's bonito tataki is very delicious!" 。

Finally, I asked you about this feeling.
"There was little difference in height, the road was well-equipped, and the course was easy to run. Even beginners can challenge it. And the Aid was all delicious! I enjoyed a gourmet unique to Kochi. Of course, Niyodo Blue was also very beautiful, and I was able to run comfortably. It's an event that both beginners and veterans can enjoy!" 。
By the way, Spo! Kochi's familiar prefectural government runner, Toby, challenged the long course for the first time. Please take a look at this on official Instagram!

Thank you, Linda, this time. Thank you to Linda and Toby, too!
Next time, we will introduce you to sightseeing spots in Kochi Prefecture and enjoy the unique experiences and gourmets of Kochi.
