2024 Paris Olympic Wrestling Women's Freestyle 57kg class Tsugumi Sakurai won a gold medal!
Tsugumi Sakurai from Konan City, Kochi Prefecture won a stunning gold medal in the Paris Olympic Wrestling Women's Freestyle 57kg class on August 10, 2024 (Sat), Japan Time!
This is the first Olympic athlete from Kochi Prefecture in 92 years since Hisao Kitamura, a 1,500-meter freestyle swimmer at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1932.
The final was Anastasia Nikita from Moldova who won the World Championship final in 2023 and won.
He won a gold medal by winning 6-0 with a dangerous game to the end.
After the victory, he rushed to the audience seats and enjoyed the victory with his father Yushi, director Yanagawa of Ikuei University in Gunma Prefecture, and his friends.
