"Spoll! I tried it." SUP experience at the largest dam lake in Shikoku

This time, Mr. Yoshikawa, who is the first experience of SUP. Mr. Yoshikawa, who has already experienced canoeing and kayaking, how was his first SUP experience?

First of all

In order to experience the first SUP this time, we used the plan of "Lake Sameura Lake Sup Experience" by "SORAMIL" (Sorami), which offers various activities based in Kochi Prefecture. SUP is an abbreviation for Stand Up Paddle, a water sport that sits on a large board like a surfboard and enjoys paddling, but it is reputed that it is difficult to stand up (?) Seems like. I've experienced kayaking and canoeing before, but I've never experienced SUP so I was interested in trying it all the time.

Place

About an hour by car from Kochi city, there was a facility called "Sameura Canoe Terrace" in Tosa-cho, Tosa-gun, which will be taken care of this time. On the banks of the lake, the sunshine from the open sky and the wind blowing through were very pleasant. 

"Sameura" is derived from "Saimeiura Dam", which is known as the largest dam in Shikoku, and "SORAMIL"'s SUP will be performed on Lake Sameura, a lake formed by the dam.

What does the lake surface look like? For the time being, when I entered the terrace, a scenery that I couldn't imagine from the small appearance jumped in.

Experience plan

In the SORAMIL experience plan, the instructor will tell you how to experience it. First, check the physical condition and precautions of the day on the canoe terrace, and wear a life jacket if there is no problem. I will teach you how to handle the paddle. You taught me very politely.

The SUP I experience this time is the "Lake SUP" that is performed in a lake without water flow, so it is relatively easy even for beginners.

I was standing on my knees, but I was able to ride smoothly.

The calm lake surface did not worry about being blown up by the waves like the sea, and the board had a sense of stability. It's fun!

In the experience on the lake, they not only rowed with paddles, but also taught me how to play with a high degree of difficulty, such as turning using the entire board and jumping around on the board. Despite falling into the water many times and getting soaked, the regrets that I couldn't do and the sense of accomplishment when I was able to do well were fun, and I was absorbed in challenging.

I sat on the board and had sweets sold locally. What a luxury...! He cheeked sweets with the same eyes as the lake surface, and drifted while listening to the tranquility of the lakeside, the babbling of the forest, and the birdsong. It is a time of healing that you can never taste in the city.

The time to get in touch with the natural charm of SUP and Kochi has passed quickly. Even as a beginner, I want to do more. I can still do it. "I was able to enjoy it so much that I could do it. The time on the lake surface of Dam Lake was really wonderful, so I want to experience it again!
